Shoaib  Akhter opposes Pakistan India cricket series under the  prevailing tension at borders, former fast bowler says to postpone matches planned in Dubai.

According to details, traditional rivals are scheduled to play bilateral series in Dubai after 2007 in the month of December. Since border tension between India and Pakistan are rising, India has has indicated many times of not playing the series.  Shoaib Akhter also said that the series should not be played till the cross border tension between the two countries are peacefully resolved.

He also said that politics and sports should not be mixed together. However, there is enough tension between the two countries on the borders and playing series in such atmosphere is not right.

In such a situation delaying the series is advisable unless both the countries are willing to have peaceful talks. It is then  when cricket could play an active role in normalizing  relationship between the two countries. The world 2 best teams cannot ignore playing each other as they produce some excellent talent and people like to watch the match between both the countries.

At the same time Shoaib Akhter also said that the three accused players involved in match fixing should be allowed to play when the ban is over next month. It would be an appropriate decision if Salman Butt, M.Asif and Aamir  are pardoned and allowed to represent the national team as they have already fulfilled their term and should learn a lesson from their past. I would like to see them play cricket and  prove themselves as decent human beings, they can be pardoned when they make the team win the T 20 series.
