Shoaib Malik becomes the first player to play 100 T20Is

Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder, Shoaib Malik achieved another feat as he became the first player to play 100 T20 International games.

Malik, who debuted for Pakistan in 1999. created the history during the second T20I of the tri-nation series against Australia, though he had a forgettable outing on his memorable day as he could only manage to score 16 runs before getting out.

Shahid Afridi is the second on the list with 99 matches, while India’s former skipper MS Dhoni is at third place with 90 T20Is.

The 36-year old also became the third player in T20Is to reach 2,000 T20I runs just after the New Zealand’s duo of Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum, who haveĀ 2,271 and 2,140 runs to their name respectively.
