Pakistan’s seasoned allrounder, Shoaib Malik has become the leading scorer for Pakistan in T20Is after surpassing Umar Akmal’s 1,690 runs.
Malik, who has been in prime form, played a blistering inning of 39 runs on 23 deliveries in a losing cause against World XI in the second T20 international of the Independence Cup.
Before Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan in international T20 games with 1,690 runs in 82 matches.
Shoaib Malik took 88 matches to make into the record books of Pakistan.
Mohammad Hafeez has now dropped to third highest run-getter after Malik’s triumph. He has 1,619 runs in 78 contests.
The experienced allrounder Shahid Afridi is the fourth highest run-getter for Pakistan with 1,405 in 98 games, whereas the talented opener Ahmed Shehzad is at fifth with 1,215 in 50 games.
