Lahore: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik will join the Pakistan squad in Southampton today for the three-match T20I series against England starting on August 28.
The 38-year-old Shoaib had to travel to England with the main squad but he asked for special travel dispensation by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to spend time with his family in India.
All-rounder has now met his family, wife tennis star Sania Mirza, and one-year-old son, Izhaan Mirza Malik after Indian government lifted the air travel ban on July 31.
Pakistani cricketer spent the last few months in Sialkot due to international travel ban following the global COVID-19 pandemic. Previously he was involved in Pakistan Super League (PSL), which commenced on 20 February before it was suspended on 17 March.
The team management has decided to release emerging pacer Musa Khan from the 29-member squad.
On the other hand, assistant to head coach Shahid Aslam had also joined the team after he visited Lahore due to the death of his father.
