Sindh wins National U19 One Day Championship


Lahore: Alyan Mahmood bagged four wickets to drive Sindh to 57-runs win over Northern to win National U19 One Day Championship here at Gaddafi Stadium. 

While batting first, Sindh posted 242-8 with the help of Gazir Ghori and Adeel Mio. Gazir scored 62 runs while Adeel Mio made 53 runs.

For Northern, Faizan Saleem and Mubasir Khan bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Northern were bowled out for 185 runs thanks to Alyan’s four-wicket haul. Young Alyan bagged the man-of-the-final award.

Mubasir of Northern bagged man-of-the-tournament award for scoring 332 runs and taking 6 wickets. Abdul Fasih also of Northern scored 524 runs to bag the best batsman award whereas best bowler’s awards went to Faisal Akram of Southern Punjab (SP) who bagged 27 wickets.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)’s Salman Khan dismissed 21 batsmen from behind the stumps to be named as best wicket-keeper of the tournament.
