Skipper Bismah leads Pakistan to 2-0 T20I series win against Bangladesh


Bismah Maroof scored her career best 50-ball 70 runs to laid solid foundation for Pakistan as they beat Bangladesh by 15 runs in the second consecutive T20I to win three matches series 2-0 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Bismah struck his tenth fifty with the help of nine boundaries and a six which took Pakistan to 167-3 in 20 overs after they were sent to bat first.

She along with Javeria Khan, who struck his sixth T20I fifty, scored unbeaten 95 runs for the fourth wicket. Javeria scored 52 runs of 44 deliveries.

Jahanara Alam took two wickets for Bangladesh.

In reply, the tourists were reduced to 25-3 which put immense pressure on them. Sanjeeda Islam was their highest run-scorer with 45 runs as they managed to get 152 runs on the scoreboard.

Nigar Sultana contributed 21 runs to the team’s total. Furgana Iqbal made quick 30 runs on the end but couldn’t finish the game for the visiting side.

Saadia Iqbal, who was playing just her second T20I, bagged three wickets while conceding 19 runs. Diana Baig, Anum Amin and Sana Mir shared a wicket apiece.
