Manchester: Australia’s batsman Steve Smith is set to return for the second ODI on Sunday against England after passing a second concussion test.

Smith was hit on the helmet during a training session ahead of the series opener, which Australia won by 19 runs in his absence, and although he was cleared on initial assessment the decision was made to rest him precautionary grounds.

According to Sky Cricket, a spokesman from Cricket Australia (CA) also confirmed that the 31-year-old had now come through two rounds of testing and would be available to reclaim his place.

It must be noted that Australia leads the three-match ODI series 1-0. They lost the T20I series 2-1.
