At lunch on day 3 South Africa have slowly moved themselves to 105/4 and in the process they finally showed some sort of resistance on the spin friendly pitch at Nagpur.
After loosing two quick wickets on day 3, Captain Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis defied the Indian bowlers for the better part of the session and made sure that the spinners did not make any further in roads into the South African batting lineup.
South Africa have a mammoth task on their hands and this is just the beginning because with every passing minute the wicket is becoming increasingly difficult for batting. This effort from Amla and du Plessis will be a sigh of relief for the Proteas team because they have failed to come up with any sort of strategy to counter the Indian bowling and the spinners in particular.
Although India are still favorites to win this match because one more wicket can spark another collapse so this partnership is vital for South Africa to have any chance of winning this test match.
