South Africa likely to host India for three T20Is in August

South Africa is hopeful to host India to play three T20Is at the end of August viewing the provided government regulations on both sides that will allow the matches to go ahead.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Cricket South Africa’s director of cricket Graeme Smith and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly during a CSA executive trip to India in February discussed the series and finalized the series via teleconference yesterday.

Smith has said that the board is in constant contact with the BCCI. “We have been talking to them and the commitment is there to get the three T20s done,” Smith said at a news conference on Thursday.

“There is an element of guesswork, no-one knows what things will be like at the end of August but we believe we are a socially-distanced sport and that we can play behind closed doors,” he added.
It must be noted that South Africa visited India in March for three-match ODI series but it was officially postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
