Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Chief Executive Wasim Khan said after England, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia are also lined up to tour Pakistan in 2021.
Speaking to ARY News, Khan said they are in talks with other top nations including South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia to tour Pakistan next year. He also confirmed inviting the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for a short white-ball tour in January 2021. The tour will be comprised of three T20Is.
“Yes, we have invited England to play three T20Is in Pakistan,” confirmed Khan. “Next year is very important for our cricket as after England, we are in talks with South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia to tour Pakistan,” he told ARY News.
Khan added they are waiting for ECB’s response to further move onto start arrangements for the tour. “We are now waiting for ECB’s response after which we will start preparations for the tour,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that ECB has confirmed receiving an invitation from PCB to play three T20Is in Pakistan. The tour will depend on the current COVID-19 situation. If this tour goes on, England will be touring Pakistan after 15 years.
