Sri Lanka 264-7 as rain brings early close

Sri Lanka were 264-7 when rain brought an early close to the first day of the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton on Friday.

Angelo Mathews was not out 63 and Milinda Suriwardana made 62.

The pair put on a record Sri Lankan fifth-wicket partnership against New Zealand of 138.

Trent Boult picked up two for 43 and Tim Southee two for 51.
