Veteran fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been dropped from the Sri Lankan team for their upcoming ODI series against Pakistan.
Sri Lankan Cricket said that 34-years old pacer was not considered because of his poor performances in previous 50-over matches.
Malinga has struggled for form since making his comeback to the team in February and the seamer has been overlooked for the latest selection.
Meanwhile, batting mainstay and former captain Angelo Mathews also does not feature in the squad after failing to recover from the calf injury.
Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews had sustained the injury during training on Tuesday, before undergoing scans on Wednesday.
Middle-order batsman Chamara Kapugedera makes the cut, while all-rounder Seekkuge Prasanna returns to the side. Leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay also has been added into the 15 member squad. Test captain Dinesh Chandimal, who was not in the original ODI squad against India, has also been named in the squad.
First ODI will be played on October 13, in Dubai.
