Sri Lanka may tour Pakistan in 2016: sources

KARACHI: Sri Lankan team could be playing cricket series in Pakistan next year citing sources, reports.

According to sources, Sri Lanka may tour Pakistan in 2016 if India agrees to tour United Arab Emirates in December this year.

The details of the tour are yet to be decided.

A delegation of Sri Lankan cricket board are arriving in Pakistan to watch the upcoming two one day internationals against Zimbabwe on the invitation of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan, sources said.

The Sri Lankan team was attacked by militants the last time they were playing in Pakistan’s city of Lahore back in 2009.

The doors of international cricket were shut in Pakistan for six years till Zimbabwe became the first test playing nation to tour the terror-hit country.

Pakistan is currently hosting a one day international series against Zimbabwe.
