‘Still got your ODI cap?’ Broad asks Anderson as England to name new squad

Karachi: England’s top two leading wicket-takers in Test cricket James Anderson and Stuart Broad are hoping to receive a call-up for ODI series against Pakistan after seven members of the English squad testes positive for COVID-19 just two days before the series.

The England and Wales Cricket (ECB) announced that the squad will go under isolation while new squad will be named for ODI and T20I series, led by all-rounder Ben Stokes.

The 35-year-old Broad tagged Anderson in a tweet where he asked whether he has his ODI cap until now.

The 38-year-old Anderson posted a GIF where it seems like he’s waiting for a call from English selectors of a possible comeback.

It must be noted that Broad and Anderson have not played ODI cricket for last five years and are part of the England’s Test squad only.

Broad last played against South Africa in February 2016 while Anderson last featured in 2015 Cricket World Cup against Afghanistan.
