PCB has decided to adopt strict measures in keeping PSL free from Fixing. ICC Anti corruption Unit rules will be strictly implemented and a close watch will be kept on all players, in and out of the field.
According to details many stories have been coming in regarding cricket leagues involvement in corruption worldwide, an event free from match fixing rumors is becoming a myth. IPL despite having a successful experience could not keep itself away from being blamed, suspicious events have also occurred in Bangladesh and Caribbean leagues, and now Pakistan’s situation is quite delicate itself.
Recently, the ban imposed on 3 Pakistani players involved in match fixing has also ended. During a recent PSL press conference held on Thursday, PCB’s Executive Head Najam Sethi was questioned regarding the transparency of PSL event to which Najam Sethi replied, “Like any other International tournament, cricketers around the world will be joining the Pakistani League. During the entire tournament at Qatar, we will strictly abide by all the rules and regulations set by the ICC anti-corruption unit and we will ensure no negligence on our part.”
To make the event successful it is important not to let anything unpleasant happen, He added.
It may be remembered that according to Justice Qayum’s report, Wasim Akram is not allowed to take any sort of responsibility in the Cricket Board. However, PCB has opted to utilize his services for PSL.
