KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan’s MMA star Ahmed ‘Wolverine’ Mujtaba suffers his career’s first defeat as he took on Malaysia’s Keanu Subba in the octagon of One Championship at a packed Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

It was expected that the two will have an exciting bout as both men are known for their work on ground. However, Ahmed Mujtaba could not match the strength of his Malaysian opponent on ground and had to tap out in the third minute of the first round off deep guillotine choke.

Both fighters started the fight aggressively, but Subba was the one who took down the Wolverine on the mat and he was able to change positions quite easily. It seemed like Mujtaba was struggling to showcase his grappling skills against him.

It was Ahmed Mujtaba’s first defeat of his MMA fighting career, before the fight his record was 8-0 and now it is 9-1. On the other hand, Subba’s record is improved from 4-2 to 5-2.

The Malaysian mixed martial artist had also defeated Pakistan’s Waqar Umar in September 2016 that too in first round of the fight.
