The 5th Sultan of Johor cup will begin from the 11th of October and will conclude on 18th of the same month. Pakistan Junior team will also be taking part in this competition and will be a good opportunity for the side to prepare for the Junior Asia cup which begins in Malaysia a month after the event is finished.
Pakistan Junior team is quite a talented team and has performed better than the senior team in recent times and so a lot is expected of the team when they begin their campaign in the tournament.
Pakistan will face their arch rivals India first on the 11th of October and considering the history that these two teams have between them, it will be a highly entertaining clash. India have won the last two editions of the Sultan of Johor cup and are a formidable side. So a victory for Pakistan in this match will set up the tempo of the tournament rather nicely for them and increase their level of confidence.
The men in green then face Great Britain on the 14th and Argentina the next day. Pakistan end their group stage matches on the 17th October against Malaysia who in recent years have really improved their standard of hockey.
The final of the tournament will be played on the 18th of October.
