FAISALABAD: Home side Faisalabad Wolves got off to a winning start in the Super-8 T20 Cup as they defeated Multan Tigers by seven runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method thanks to a half century by captain Misbah-ul-Haq here at Iqbal Stadium on Tuesday, ARYSports.tv reports.
Faisalabad Wolves Captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and put his side to bat first.
His side managed to score 183/6 in their 20 overs with the captain being the top scorer with 67 runs from 27 balls which included five boundaries and five sixes.
Opener Bilal Shah made 32 (12) while Khurram Shehzad contributed 29 (22) for their team.
Majid Ali took two wickets for his team while Aamer Yamin, Mohammad Ali and Naved Yasin took one wicket each.
Multan Tigers, chasing a revised target of 147 from 16.3 overs, could fell just seven runs short as they scored 139/6 runs.
Naved Yasin made 69 runs while Aftab Niazi scored 25 runs.
Pacer Mohammad Talha took three wickets while Asad Ali and Saeed Ajmal dismissed one wicket each.
Misbah-ul-Haq was named Man of the Match.
Earlier, the match between Karachi Dolphins and Lahore Lions was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
