FAISALABAD: Peshawar Panthers defeated Rawalpindi Rams by seven wickets while Sialkot Stallions handed a 87 run thrashing to Abbottabad Falcons in the Super-8 T20 Cup here at Faisalabad, ARYSports.tv reports.
In the first game of the day, Peshawar won the toss and invited Rawalpindi to bat first.
Batting first, Rams scored 145/6 in their allotted 20 overs with Naved Malik top scoring with 57 runs from 40 balls while Zahid Mansoor made 34 runs from 31 balls.
Imran Khan Jr. took three wickets while Imran Khan Sr. took two wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed also got a wicket.
In reply, Panthers reached the target of 146 in 19.2 overs with seven wickets in hand. Adil Amin scored 53 runs while Iftikhar Ahmed made 32 runs for their team.
Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asghar and Hammad Azam all took one wicket each.
The Men of the Match award was shared between Adil Amin and Imran Khan Jr.
Bilal Asif scored the first century of the tournament to help Sialkot Stallions outclass Abbottabad Falcons by 87 runs.
Asif made 114 from 48 balls while Shoaib Malik scored an unbeaten 56 runs as the team scored a daunting 240/4 in their 20 overs.
Falcons could only manage 153 in 17.3 overs. Kamran Ghulam made 29 runs while Adnan Raees contributed 28 runs for their team.
Usama Mir took four wickets in the match while Sultan Ahmed took two wickets. Bilal Asif, Shoaib Malik, Haris Sohail and Mukhtar Ahmed also dismissed one batsmen as well.
Bilal Asif was named Man of the Match for his century.
Lahore Lions will face Multan Tigers while Karachi Dolphins will play against Faisalabad Wolves on Friday.
