The chief selector, Inzamam Ul Haq, coined the young paceman, Muhammad Hasnain as the surprise package for Pakistan and believes that he can strike for the team.
The former skipper shared his experience of facing a bowler having such vicious place during his playing days and said that it used to be quite tough.
“I think he [Hasnain] can win matches for the team at any time,” said Inzamam. “We have experienced bowlers like Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Junaid Khan who have similar kind of speed, then there is Hasnain with extra pace, who can damage any team and can be a surprise package for any side.”
Hasnain impressed cricket experts during his stint for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League 2019, which earned him the national call against Australia in the five-match ODI series in the UAE.
The 19-year old was impressive in the Pakistan uniform and tested Australian batsmen with his extra zip and accuracy.
Pakistan will take on England ahead of the World Cup in the five-match ODI series and a T20I, starting from May 5. Later, they will participate in the mega cricketing event, which will take place from May 30 to July 14 in England and Wales.
