LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League, on Friday, announced the list of players who will take part in the draft for the second season of the country’s premier T20 league. Former Test captain Salman Butt and fast bowler Mohammad Asif have also been inducted in the draft.

The two cricketers are currently playing the Quaid-e-Azam trophy where they are representing Wapda. The duo was quite happy over this development and thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board for giving this opportunity to feature in Pakistan Super League.

“I am thankful to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL management, that has given me this opportunity and included my name in the [draft] list,” said Salman while talking to The Express Tribune.

Meanwhile fast bowler Mohammad Asif is confident that one of the franchises will pick him during the draft on the 18th and 19th of October in Dubai.

“I have trained in Oslo, Norway a few weeks ago and after that played in the Afghan cricket league as well,” said Asif, adding, “Now I am playing for Wapda in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and I am confident that I will be selected for the PSL as well.”

The first edition of the Pakistan Super League was a massive success with a resounding response from both within the country and all over the world. The second edition of Pakistan Super League will take place in the early part of 2017 in United Arab Emirates with the final expected to be in Lahore.
