Swan finishes at 64th rank in 50m freestyle event at Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO: Pakistan’s woman swimmer, Lianna Swan competed in a 50m freestyle swimming event at Rio Olympics on Friday, but, failed to put an impressive show.

The 19-year old from Pakistan completed the distance in 29.02 seconds, which was not anywhere near good to get a place in last 16.

Swan finished in the 50m freestyle category at 64th position out of 88 swimmers competing in the event.

However, Denmark’s Pernille Blume, Great Britain’s Fransesca Hallsal and Belarus’ Aliaksandra Herasimenia took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Blume covered the distance in just 24.23 seconds.

Top sixteen swimmers of the event managed to get a place in the semi-final.
