Tabish Khan’s five-fer helps Sindh bowl out Central Punjab for 246


Right-arm pacer Tabish Khan bagged five wickets haul to help Sindh restrict Central Punjab (CP) to 246 on Day 2 of the eighth round in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

CP was bowled out for 246 runs with Tabish capturing the limelight. Sohail Khan and Anwar Ali bagged two wickets for Sindh.

Kamran Akmal (59) and Usman Salahuddin (57) were the two top scorers for CP.

In reply, Sindh closed day 2 at 255-4 with a lead of nine runs. Sarfraz Ahmed (39*) and Fawad Alam (42*) played strongly in the last session of the day.

Earlier, right-handed openers Khurram Manzoor and Jaahid Ali played strongly and put 140 runs together. Khurram made 85 runs and Jaahid scored 72 runs.

Bilal Asif bagged three wickets for CP.

In another match at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi, Southern Punjab (SP) closed Day 2 at 149-2 in reply to Northern’s 463-7. Umar Siddique (58*) and Mohammad Irfan (15*) remained not out. Zeeshan Ashraf got out after scoring 57 runs.

While batting first, Northern with the help of Hammad Azam (100) and Umar Amin (90) declared their first inning for 463-7. Ali Sarfraz was the other prominent contributor for Northern with 73 runs.
