Multan: Veteran South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir has expressed his gratitude to the people of Multan for their endless support in the three matches played at Multan Cricket Stadium.
The 40-year-old who is representing Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five has thanked every individual for supporting throughout his stay in Multan that has impressed him a lot.
“The crowd has been great, It’s an honor to play for Multan Sultans in Multan as people from all over the city have come to support us, personally I am grateful for their endless support, from groundsman to hotel-staff, the hospitality has been great, ” Tahir said in the post-match presser after defeating Gladiators by 30 runs.
Tahir was keen to dismiss explosive Shane Watson and took it as a challenge as they have played in different leagues in the same team.
“I have played with Shane Watson in the same team in other leagues, so it was a kind of challenge for me. I succeeded in my plans and got his price wicket as he is a dangerous man who can take the game away” he added.
Apart from the win, Sultans dropped a few catches but according to him, it’s a part of the game. “It’s difficult to play three matches in four days, dropping catches are part of the game but we will try to practice more as we have days in between our next fixture,” he maintained.
It must be noted that Tahir brilliant two for 27 helped Sultans to defend target of 200 against Gladiators. He is currently the second-highest wickets taker of the ongoing season with eight wickets in five matches.
