Team White adds 20 runs on rain-hit Day 2


Derby: Sarfaraz Ahmed and Fawad Alam didn’t get much time to bat on as rain hit Day 2 of the second Four Day Intra-Squad Practice Match between Team White and Team Green. 

Resuming the second day at 88-3, Team White added just 20 runs to the team’s total which reached 108-3 at stumps. The batting side is trailed by 5 runs.

Earlier, Sohail Khan bagged five wickets for 37 runs as Team White bowled out Team Green for just 113 runs.

Sent into bat first, Team Green lost openers for just 10 runs, both became victims of Khan’s tremendous form. Shan Masood scored 9 whereas Abid Ali made just a run.

Babar Azam was the highest scorer from Azhar Ali XI as the right-handed batsman scored 32 runs off 77 deliveries with the help of three boundaries. Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a ton in last practice match, was able to score just 18 runs.

Apart from Sohail, Faheem Ashraf bagged two wickets for 16 runs while Imran Khan and Kashif Bhatti took a wicket each.

In reply, Team White managed to score 88-3 after bowling out Team Green for 113 on Day 1.

Team Green wasn’t up to the mark with the bat but took three early wickets to make a comeback in the game.

Team White marred by early blow when Imam-ul-Haq walked off after getting injured. Fakhar Zaman scored 22 runs off 47 balls with the help of four boundaries. Haider Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed made 7 runs each.

Fawad Alam and Sarfaraz Ahmed remained not-out for 18 and 6 runs respectively.

Naseem Shah, Shan Masood, and Yasir Shah took a wicket each for Team Green.
