Former Pakistan’s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar suggested Babar Azam’s name for the Test captaincy of Pakistan Cricket Team.
While talking to the media on Friday, Akhtar said Sarfraz should lead Pakistan team till 2019 ODI World Cup, as far as Test captaincy is concerned Babar Azam would be a decent choice.
The world’s fastest bowler further added that it’s a challenge for Sarfraz that if he wants to lead Pakistan team in all three formats then he has to perform well.
“He [Sarfraz] should take some bold decisions and have to perform with the bat,”
About the upcoming Test series against Australia, Akhtar said that the selectors have picked a decent squad and he is optimistic that the team will definitely bounce back.
Replying to a question about Pakistan’s poor performance in Asia Cup, he said, “It’s time to move on but we should learn from our mistakes as upcoming series against Australia and New Zealand are so important,”
He also advised that Sarfraz should pick his own playing 11.
Pakistan will play the first Test of the series against Australia from October 7 in Dubai, while the second will take place in Abu Dhabi from October 16.
