The destructive Islander


The explosive Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya, who destroyed bowlers in a matter of minutes, will now be a part of the PSL as the former star player will be part of the coaching panel of Pakistan’s premier T20 league.

Sanath Jayasuriya played close to 600 international matches for Sri Lanka and scored more than 21000 runs in international cricket. He holds many records for the Islanders and was one of their most successful batsman. He is second on the list of most runs for Sri Lanka in ODIs and is just behind the legend Kumar Sangakkara whereas in the all time highest runs scorer in 50 over cricket he is ranked 4th. In test matches his positioned number three in all time leading run scorers for Sri Lanka.



Sanath was more than useful left arm bowler and was known as the partnership breaker. He took 323 wickets in ODIs including 4 five wicket hauls.

The squash buckling opener has 48 man of the match awards to his name and is placed 2nd on the all time list of behind Sachin Tendulkar.

He will be an asset for the PSL as he has a great mind of cricket and understands the dynamics of the shorter format better than most people and the team which he coaches will be lucky to have him.
