Last night all the group stage matches of the UEFA Champions League came to a close. All the top contenders for the round of 16 qualification went through apart from the English side Manchester United.
Now the attention turns towards the round of 16 which is scheduled to take place in February and March 2016. The draws on 14th December will decide about the teams which will come up against each other.
The possible opponents of some of the group winners of this season make an interesting reading and we could see some exciting clashes in round of 16.

A couple of ideal matches that we might witness are between Paris SG and FC Barcelona and Real Madrid and Juventus. In their last meeting Real Madrid were knocked out in the semi finals by Juventus by a margin of 3-2 on aggregate.
The top goal scorer of the group stage was Cristiano Ronaldo with 11 goals which is a new European record for the group stage and he will be looking to add more goals to his tally as the tournament progresses.
