South African speedster Allan Donald was one of the finest bowler to grace the game. Better known as the White Lightning Donald was the first Proteas bowler to take 300 wickets in test matches. He achieved this feat, today in the year 2000, against New Zealand at Bloemfontein. He took 6 wickets in the match as South African team won the match by 5 wickets.
Allan Donald ended his career with 330 wickets to his credit in 72 matches and is 4th on the list of most wickets for South Africa in test matches and in ODIs he is second in the list with 272 wickets.
He had a terrific average and strike rate in both ODIs and test matches which is a glimpse of his class as a bowler and combine that with some searing pace, it becomes an even more lethal combination. In his entire international career, which spanned over 11 years, he took more than 600 wickets and troubled a lot of top class batsman of his time.
