Sri Lanka Cricket announced depleted squads for a six-match tour in Pakistan, after ten top players refused to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns.
Lahiru Thirimanne will now lead the 15-member one-day international squad replacing Dimuth Karunaratne, while the 16-member T20 squad will be led by Dasun Shanaka.
The uncapped batsman Minod Banuka set to make his debut in both ODI and T20I formats.
The Sri Lankan cricket board has taken strict action against the players who have refused to tour Pakistan, as No Objection Certificate (NOC) will not be provided to Niroshan Dickwella for the participation in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League, while they have asked their senior all-rounder Thisara Parera to return to the country leaving the league halfway.
The other eight players who have decided to withdraw from the tour of Pakistan are Thisara Perera, Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal and Dinesh Chandimal.
