Saifullah Bangash played brilliantly and scored 116 runs for Sindh as they posted 332-6 in 83 overs on Day 1 of eight round in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2nd XI Tournament.
Bangash supported Sindh’s inning after they initially lost their three batsmen for a sum of 32. He smashed 11 boundaries.
Mohammad Mohsin also contributed worthy 90 runs to the team’s total. Ahsan Ali, who got concussed during the match, made 51 runs.
Bilal Iqbal bagged three wickets while Ahmed Bashir took two wickets.
In another match, Northern lost an early wicket for just 11 runs against Southern Punjab (SP) after they were set to chase the first inning total of 357.
Mukhtar Ahmed shined with his splendid 132 runs knock which included 12 boundaries and two sixes. He along with Anas Mustafa (94) put 223 runs together on the scoreboard to strengthen their team’s total.
From Northern, Usama Mir bagged four wickets while Shahzad Azam took two.
The match between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan at KRL Stadium was reduced to an inning each side following bad weather in Rawalpindi. KP, while batting first, closed day 1 at 77-3.
