Shan Masood smashed 118 runs to help Southern Punjab post 303-5 against Sindh on day one of the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fixture at the UBL Sports Complex on Saturday.
Masood showed courage to stay at the crease in hot and humid weather of Karachi and played 205 balls to reach his century which includes 13 boundaries and two sixes.
Sohaib Maqsood, on the other hand, supported the skipper well by scoring 57 runs off 111 balls. They both put 134 runs together on the scoreboard while partnering for the third wicket stand.
The wicket-keeper batsman Adnan Akmal remained not out for 39 runs after stumps were called on day one.
Tabish Khan and Waleed Ahmed shared two wickets apiece for Sindh.
