Centurion: Veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez reiterated that he is fully available to represent Pakistan in ODI cricket.
The 40-year-old Hafeez has only been playing T20I cricket since the 2019 World Cup, however, he feels that it is totally up to selectors for his inclusion in ODI side.
“I’m available for white-ball cricket. After 2019, I was only selected for one format and that’s T20Is. Whatever the PCB’s policy is of not selecting me in ODIs, it is their choice, but I’m available for both formats till I’m fit and I don’t become a burden on the team,” Hafeez said in virtual presser before T20I series.
On the other hand, Hafeez will become the second Pakistan player and sixth overall to feature in 100 T20Is when he takes the field against South Africa in first of the four men’s Twenty20 Internationals at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The star cricketer is proud and humble on this occasion of playing 100 T20Is. “I was part of Pakistan’s inaugural T20 game in Bristol and tomorrow I’ll play the 100th game. So happy, humble and proud,” he added.
“I have many beautiful memories and I want to take more good memories with me once I leave. However, I am satisfied with the services I have put in this format,” he maintained.
