Karachi: Tower Sports and SportsWorkz have collaboratively bought the production rights of the upcoming fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is confident to make this edition bigger and better as it returns completely to the country and will be hosted in four cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
According to the details, both the production companies were given the rights through an open and transparent tender process as per the Pakistan Procurement Rules 2004.
Tower Sports is a Pakistan-registered company while SportzWorkz is registered in Singapore, and, together, they bring a powerful and respected crew of production management team who have a great wealth of experience of quality cricket production.
The production team will be headed by one of the industry stalwarts Chris McDonald and includes Stephen Norris, Tim Finlay, Louwrens Rensburg, and Graham Rendell. They all are well-known and have covered sports leagues around the world.
Meanwhile, the foreign production officials will also train Pakistani camerapersons and technical crew. This development program is being put in place with an aim to enhance the broadcast production skills of resources available in Pakistan.
It must be noted here that PSL 5 will start from February 20 in Karachi with an opening ceremony. Karachi will host nine matches, Lahore will host 14 matches while Rawalpindi and Multan to host eight and three matches respectively.
