Transgender people to participate in 2019 Punjab Games

Transgender people from all parts of the province will attend the 72nd Punjab games, which is going to take place from 3 to 6 April.

The transgenders had a practice session at Punjab stadium in different games like sack race, tug of war and sprint race.

Director General Punjab Sports, Mr Nadeem Sarwar while talking to the media said, “For the first time in history, we have offered an opportunity to transgender people to attend a sports event.”

“They are also a part of the society, aiming to join them in the event is to eliminate their deprived feeling,” he said. “We have included the transgenders in 72nd Punjab Games to bring them to the national stream.”

President of transgender’s society, Saima Butt expressed her delight and excitement, said that she is thankful to DG Sports Punjab Mr Nadeem Sarwar who gave them the opportunity to attend the event.

“We are pleased to attend such events, it makes us feels that we are also a part of this society,” Saima told ARY.

DG Sports Punjab witnessed the practice session at Punjab Stadium and praised them.
