Two sides of Wahab Riaz


In an ongoing Test in Dubai, Wahab Riaz, the Pakistan left-arm pacer took as many as five run-ups to deliver a legitimate bowl to a Sri Lankan batsman in his 19th over.

Riaz struggles left wicketkeeper-captain Sarfaraz and coach Mickey Arthur confound, while Sarfaraz kept his cool, Arthur stormed into the dressing room after 5th attempt.

Arthur was also seen having a discussion with Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood right after the bizarre incident, while on the field.

32 years-old fast bowler finally managed to bowl a legal delivery in his 6th attempt when he banged in a short ball to Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne. His 19th over lasted 7Mins&30Secs.

But, on the 3rd day Riaz made a strong comeback by picking up three wicket in quick successions to derail Sri Lanka’s second innings to 34-5 at close, however the visitors are still in a stable position with an overall lead of 254 runs with five wickets intact.

Pakistan were steady at 51 for no loss in reply to Sri Lanka’s first-innings total of 482. Pakistan trail by another 431 runs in the ongoing Test at Dubai.
