UAE hit 285 against Zimbabwe


NELSON: The United Arab Emirates registered their best one-day international total 285 for the loss of 7 wickets against a Test-playing nation in a World Cup match against Zimbabwe in Nelson on Thursday.

The Gulf side’s previous best was 204 against Bangladesh at the Asia Cup in 2008, but they surpassed that at Saxton Oval in the 41st over of their Pool B match.

Shaiman Anwar top scored with a personal best 67 and Khurram Khan made 45.

For Zimbabwe, Tendai Chatara took three for 42.
