UMA- Chief of Naval Staff Open Golf Championship to be played from 17 to 20 August in Karachi that will feature the top golfers of the country.

22nd CNS Open Golf Championship, which is sponsored by United Marine Agency (UMA) for the ninth consecutive time, is expected to be the biggest golfing event of the year with a prize purse of Rs. 7 million.

“The prize purse of the championship has been enhanced by Rs500,000 this year, making it the richest-ever event in Pakistan sports history,” the press release read.

Rear Admiral Ather Mukhtar, Commander Karachi is confident for tournament’s success.

“We are confident of making the UMA-CNS Open a mega success,” he said at a press conference held here at KGC on Thursday.

The prize money for the tournament has been increased by Rs 500,000, the official press release read.

Last year, it was the seasoned Matloob Ahmed who won the professionals’ title after a lapse of 12 years. He had an aggregate of 276, 12 under-par, winning the title ahead of Pakistan No. 1 Shabbir Iqbal.
