Inzamam Ul Haq, head of selection committee, announced T20 and ODI squads for series against West Indies. Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Usman Khan Shinwari have made it to the squad.
However, Umar Akmal was the only player out of 32 players, who could not pass the fitness test and hence dropped from the team.
The man of the series for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017, Kamran Akmal has also made a comeback in the national squad with the courtesy of his consistent performances in domestic cricket.
Whereas, Mohammad Amir has been rested for the four-match T20 series against West Indies, but he is a part of the ODI squad as the series has great importance for Pakistan regarding direct qualification for World Cup 2017.
Moreover, former ODI captain, Azhar Ali has been dropped from the 50-over format.
Shadab Khan, the young leg-spinner of Islamabad United, impressed cricket pundits and was called as the find of PSL 2017, he has been selected for both T20 and ODI series.
Moreover, Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman and Karachi Kings’ Usman Khan Shinwari also knocked national team’s doors with their performance in PSL and are included in the squad.
