The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have fined Umar Akmal 20 percent of his match fee for a late night-out before the fifth ODI against Australia which was scheduled on March 31 (Sunday).
According to the PCB, they have also issued an official reprimand to the right-handed batsman who spent a night before the fifth ODI in the night club.
Umar felt guilty to the charge and apologized for his action which was against the laws, the board revealed.
On the other hand, the Managing Director of the PCB Wasim Khan praised Umar Akmal for apologizing immediately. “It is good to see that Umar apologised for his actions which were clearly unprofessional and in no way can be ignored or overlooked,” he said.
“The PCB expects a high level of professionalism and commitment from its players, and this action is a reiteration and timely reminder that any indiscipline shall not be tolerated or accepted,” he added.
