Umar Akmal visits Baba Farid’s shrine along with friends


Lahore: Banned middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has visited Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj Shakar’s (RA) shrine in Pakpattan along with his friends, ARY News reported.

The 29-year-old has started visiting shrines after the ban. On arrival at the shrine, Diwan Ahmad Masood Chishti received Umar Akmal.

Umar also laid a wreath at the shrine with his friends. He also asked Diwan Ahmad Masood Chishti to solve his problems.

Umar was handed a three-year ban from all forms of cricket by Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel Mr. Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan.

Later on, Akmal occupied the services Babar Awan law firm and challenged the punishment.

Former Supreme Court judge Mr. Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar as an independent adjudicator heard Umar’s appeal against a three-year ban on 11 June.
