Pakistan’s discarded batsman Umar Akmal is looking forward to getting yet another chance to make a comeback in international cricket.
While talking to the media in Lahore, Akmal said that a cricketer’s career is full of ups and downs but he tries to not give up anytime. “I know I haven’t come upon expectations but it happens with a cricketer. I try my best to perform,” he said.
Akmal asked the current chief selector-cum-head coach to give him yet another chance as he is confident to mot miss it. “Being a cricketer, he knows how difficult it is for a player to perform on a comeback. I am really looking forward to making an early comeback,” Akmal maintained.
To a query about comparing him with another controversial player Ahmed Shahzad, Akmal said that it is wrong to continuously bashing players. “People should back us as we also don’t want to be failed. Be it Ahmed or any other player, wants support from people,” he concluded.
It is pertinent to mention here that Akmal recently made a comeback in the national team in a three-match home T20I series against Sri Lanka. He was failed to convince with his performance which led his ouster from the team once again.
