Uzbekistan’s hockey, rugby teams land in Lahore


Uzbekistan’s national hockey team has reached Lahore to play matches against club teams and Pakistan’s development squad.

The touring team will play eight matches during their 12-day tour to Pakistan. They will play four matches against different clubs in Lahore while face Pakistan’s development squad in as many matches.

The visiting side will play their first game on April 29 followed by the second clash on April 30. The other six contests are scheduled on May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 respectively.

The visiting team players thanked the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for welcoming them in their country.

“It was overwhelming to see such encouragement and we will try to bring back good memories,” a player said.

On the other, Uzbekistan’s rugby team have also reached Lahore where they will play two matches against Pakistan. Both teams will play their first match on April 28.
