The wait is over as almost three hours left when determined Karachi Kings will take on table-toppers Multan Sultans in mega Qualifier of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5 at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Both the teams will be en route to the finale of the fifth edition with their boys hungry to wrap up the tournament on a higher note.
Karachi’s National Stadium will see two new teams facing each other in the Qualifier of PSL for the first-time ever. The pressure and excitement are on and their formidable squads ensured a nail-biting contest.
Kings’ squad will be on top if their top-order, consists of Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan and Alex Hales, make their mark. A good start from the top will give a long-living edge to Kings.
Babar Azam is in hot form with scoring highest 133 runs including two half-centuries in the recently concluded Zimbabwe T20I series.
Cameron Delport in the middle-order will give an extra advantage to Kings to take charge of opponents. Chadwick Walton can hit the ball hard alongside keeping the wickets and lay down a strong foundation.
Imad Wasim with his all-round performance can be the big-match player for kings with having a decent PSL record.
Mohammad Amir will lead the bowling battery of Kings with having the likes of Wayne Parnell, Arshad Iqbal, and Umaid Asif who can also hit some sixes in the end to race the score.
Test specialist Shan Masood will once again prove his mettle in the shorter format as batsman and captain too. His T20I leadership debut was impressive as Sultans remain on top throughout the tournament.
Alongside him, wicket-keeper batsman Zeeshan Ashraf can be handy with the bat as he aims national team place through PSL performances. England’s Joe Denly possessed the hard-hitting ability and can lift Sultans’ score when needed.
Dam Lyth will be an additional flavor to their batting line at the top. Rilee Rossouw, Khushdil Shah and Ravi Bopara will be at the middle-order to support their inning while Shahid Afridi will be the hope to provide some entertainment to fans on the television with his power-hitting.
He alongside Imran Tahir will also swing the ball for Sultans to help them control Kings with the bowl. Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, and Mohammad Ilyas make Sultans’ bowling potent for the event.
