Karachi: Quetta Gladiators’ mentor Sir Vivian Richards has apologized to the franchise after he decided not to be part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In a video message, West Indies’ legend shared his disappointment and stated that he will keep supporting his side Gladiators from his home.
“I’m extremely sorry, I won’t be with you this year but as we all know what exactly is going around the world, COVID-19 has created havoc in every country,” he said.
“Very disappointed as you all know how passionate I am about the PSL and the team I represents Quetta Gladiators. The best I can do is wish you guys all the best of luck,” Viv Richards added.
Meanwhile, the 68-year-old requested fans and commentary panel to stay safe. “Try and stay safe as possible and follow all the necessary protocols,” he added.
“To Ramiz [Raja] and commentary team, make sure you guys are wrapped up in safety package and I am looking forward to hearing you,” he maintained.
Richards concluded by hoping PSL 6 will be a successful tournament as said ‘INSHALLAH’.
