Wahab believes his county stint can give him confidence


The left-arm pacer from Pakistan, Wahab Riaz is bagging on his campaign with the English county side Essex to build his confidence of playing in those conditions for the upcoming Pakistan tour to England.

He is there to participate in an English T20 tournament, however, he feels that it will help him perform well in test matches as well, “Obviously T20 cricket is totally different from Test cricket,” he added, “But yes, coming here [in England] about a month before the tour team will really help me in building up my confidence and building up my shape.”

Wahab will represent Essex in their first seven games, the competition will kick off from Friday. Wahab Riaz seemed impressed with the quality of cricket in England.

“The quality of cricket is really good here,” he said. “You have to work hard to perform well, so this is what you need as a cricketer. You need conditions; you need cricket to make you good and better.”

Pakistan is scheduled to play four test matches, five One Day Internationals and a T20 international in England. The first test match between the two sides will commence from July 14th.
