In a post match interview, the interviewer asked the man how big it is for him to play the final in Gaddafi Stadium, his home ground?
Wahab first smiled, hung his head back and then replied , “It is an honour for me, but more than fans, I am only thinking about the man I am missing right now, my father.”
“I want to dedicate this final to him,” he said.
He also told that when he talked to his mother and sisters before the match, they told him that he has to do it for his father.
“I am thankful to GOD that he has blessed me and now I am going back to my own city. I will try to win the final there and present that as a gift to him,” he added.
Wahab Riaz’s father passed away on January 31, 2017 after a brief illness.
