Waqar suggests Azhar for ODI captaincy

LAHORE: Head coach of Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis submitted his report of the team’s performance in the Cricket World Cup 2015 to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), ARYSports.tv reports.

According to details, Waqar Younis has suggested the name of Azhar Ali as the next one day captain of the green shirts. He stated that a youngster should be given the role of leading the team.

Waqar Younis has also advised the cricket board to find power hitters in the team as the side did not manage to provide solid performances through out the mega event.

He has complained to PCB about the behavior of Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez.

It should be noted that Hafeez, who returned to Pakistan before the World Cup, said that his injury was not a serious one and could have recovered after the first couple of matches in the tournament.

The head coach, in his report, has advised PCB to drop Umar Akmal from the national side and make him play domestic cricket in order to improve his batting.
