Waqar Younis hails Pakistan test performance under him

Pakistan’s former coach Waqar Younis has said that his passion and approach towards cricket has always been top draw but it was unfortunate to see that he was not able to achieve the results he desired during his tenure as coach of Pakistan cricket team.

Talking to media before leaving for India, for his stint as commentator during the 9th edition of IPL, Waqar said that he is extremely sad for not taking Pakistan cricket to new heights but he stressed on the fact that during his time Pakistan’s win ratio in test matches was 90% which was a pleasant sight but it was unfortunate that he was not able to translate that into the shorter formats, T20 and ODIs, as the performance turned from bad to worse.

He said that he will return to serve Pakistan cricket once again and wanted the team to improve their ODI performance in order to succeed.

He concluded on the fact that Pakistan Cricket Board needs to form a committee comprising of former cricketers in order to sort out this mess otherwise the fate of cricket will be just like that of hockey and squash.
