Karachi: The Burewala Express of Pakistan’s cricket Waqar Younis wants to help his countrymen in any capacity and is also ready to join Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Corona Relief Tiger Force.
In an interaction with journalists via video conference, Younis expressed his support for Pakistani people and pledged to extend any kind of help for his own people.
“I know Pakistan is suffering through a tough time and everybody there is worried about what will happen next. Being a true Pakistani, I understand the problems our people facing today and I am with them anytime. I am ready to do whatever I can and if PM Imran Khan will ask, I will join his force too,” said Younis who is currently in Australia with his family.
The former cricketer also revealed that he and his family are coming back to Pakistan permanently later this year. It must be noted here that Younis has a three-year contract with Pakistan’s national cricket team as a bowling coach.
“I had decided earlier to return back to Pakistan but unfortunately due to coronavirus all of our plans have come to a standstill,” he said.
On the other hand, Younis expressed proudly of his wife who is serving coronavirus patients in Australia from the front. “I am very proud of my wife along with a little fear inside my heart because what she and every doctor in the world are doing right now, is very risky,” he concluded.
